A friend of mine just brought me a book called ‘Partnered Grief’. This is a small book, 23 pages, so last night I laid in bed right before i went to sleep and read it. I never knew how much of an impact it would have on me.
This small little book, written by Harold Ivan Smith and Joy Johnson, was very moving, emotional, and thought provoking. The premise of this wonderful little book was it is okay to grieve and we all grieve in our own ways. There is no time limit on our grief, that was a big one for me.
Grief is a wonderful thing once you embrace it and own it. It is a very good thing and something that we each have to do in our own time. So just remember the next time you think that some one is grieving for too long it is okay. They have the right to do this or maybe they need a friend to talk with. Either way it is okay and a good thing.
You make a difference.
